Often we get caught up in power trips and let our egos get the best of us and behave badly in public. When you stick you foot in it, the best thing to do is try apologize and move on. If you can work it out, even better. The last thing you want to ever do is stoop to someone else's level or get into a public pissing contest.
Everyone loses when that happens! Trust me, I've learned this the hard way, it's not worth damaging your reputation. Realize that you can't change anyone's mind you can only change yourself, your reaction, your thoughts. Let go of the pettiness. Say what you must, keeping in mind that you are a professional, but then walk away.
You can't solve a problem with the same mind that created it. Meaning, until you change your perspective or are willing to let go of your need to be right, you will never resolve the issue at hand. You will simply continue to compound the issue by your actions and your words.
We should agree to disagree without being disagreeable. There is a time and a place for everything.
Just a random thought...

The Climb...
When I hear the lyrics to the song "The Climb" I almost feel as though someone has written the lyrics to my life... after many years of working full-time sometimes two jobs and going to school part-time as an adult student I am finally graduating from the Fox School of Business and Management. There were many times when I seriously thought I would never make it... that I would quit either my job @ Temple or school b/c it seems as though the ends did not justify the means.
I have to say that now that this current "climb" is over... I have set my sights on higher peaks and moutain tops and cannot wait to start this new adventure. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all people who have made this dream a reality... first and foremost the Most High, without which I am nothing! My understanding children - Jessica, Veronica, Shana and Richard. My parents and siblings who had faith in me and encourage my pursuit of knowledge.
The various supervisors who were understanding and allowed me to flex my schedule to accommodate my class schedule. My friends who have understood the fact that although I am not around as much as I used to be before school and I love them and am where there for me.
My foes and haters who provided me with motivation and inspiration to continue even in the midst of their envy... My sweetheart Julio who always encouraged me to do me first - my kids second - my extended family third -then him cause he knew I carried him in my heart.
Lastly, I want to thank that inner voice who sometimes discouraged me and cautioned me not to take risks... for feeling the fear and doing it anyway!
The Climb...
I can almost see it.
That dream I'm dreaming, but
There's a voice inside my head saying
You'll never reach it
Every step I'm takin'
Every move I make
Feels lost with no direction,
My faith is shakin'
But I gotta keep tryin'
Gotta keep my head held high
There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waitin' on the other side
It's the climb
The struggles I'm facing
The chances I'm taking
Sometimes might knock me down, but
No I'm not breaking
I may not know it, but
These are the moments that
I'm gonna remember most
I've just gotta keep goin', and
I gotta be strong
Just keep pushing on, but
There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waitin' on the other side
It's the climb
There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waitin' on the other side
It's the climb
Keep on movin'
Keep climbin'
Keep faith baby
It's all about, it's all about
The climb
Keep the faith, keep your faith, woah
